Returning unclaimed property to Oklahomans is one of the jobs of the State Treasurer. Oklahoma businesses bring unclaimed property to the Treasurer for safekeeping, as required by law. The Treasurer then finds the rightful owners (or their heirs) of unclaimed funds, stocks and contents of safe deposit boxes.

The Oklahoma Treasury might have money for you from any of the following sources:

  • dormant checking accounts
  • dormant savings accounts,
  • unpaid wages
  • unpaid commissions
  • securities
  • cash dividends
  • uncashed money orders
  • utility deposits
  • refunds

Land and buildings are not included in unclaimed property.

There is no time limit on claiming your property, and there is no charge for making a claim.
