North Carolina Unclaimed Property Finder Information
Please be advised that professional unclaimed property finders must register annually with the State. The State Treasurer's Office maintains a list of registered unclaimed property finders.
The unclaimed property finder must also have customers sign an agreement that includes information about services to be provided, property involved, and the finder's fee. If the agreement does not contain this information, it may not be enforceable.
Also, any fee charged by a finder must be fair, and if it is not, a court may reduce the fee to a fair amount. Please see Statute 116B-78 for more information.
