The Unclaimed Property Administrator provides this service free of charge. Charging a fee for the information on this site is prohibited unless an agreement as described below has been signed by the owner.
Pursuant to NJSA 46:30B-106, agreements must be in writing, signed by the owner, and reveal the nature and value of the property and the owner’s share after the fee or compensation has been subtracted. N.J.S.A. 46:30B-106.
Agreements to locate unclaimed property within two years after a holder reports the property to the state are not valid. Such agreements may be entered into, after the two-year moratorium has expired, provided the fee for such services is limited to 20% of the value of the recoverable property.
